In Utah, the name Strong carries with it the reputation of a celebrated past, a dynamic present, and an exciting future. The rich and fascinating story begins in the early 1940s when auto pioneer Leroy Hobson “Roy” Strong opened a Hudson auto dealership on Main Street in Salt Lake City. That legacy is now entering its fourth generation and 70+ years of family ownership. It adds a unique level of value to every car we sell at all of our dealerships and retail operations.

By any measure, the Strong car dealerships are Utah institutions. We have the distinction of operating the longest, continuous-running import auto business in the state; we owned the first VW/Porsche/Audi franchises in Utah; we have operated from downtown Salt Lake City since the early 1940s; we have one of the highest average employee tenures of any auto dealerships in the state; and the highest average customer tenures; and we consistently post among the highest customer satisfaction scores not just in Utah, but in the nation. That’s a lot of firsts for one family-owned enterprise to achieve in just three generations, but we’re proud to enjoy such a positive reputation with clients and staff, alike.
